Berlin Fashion Week has undergone some fundamental changes since its debut in 2007. What has been the most significant transformation of the Berlin Fashion Week format for you to date?

For us as the PLATTE team, the most significant transformation is the current merger and the sense of togetherness of all fashion creators in Berlin. Berlin fashion is only sustainable if it connects and excludes no one. This merger of all fashion creators in Berlin creates a diverse and inclusive creative cosmos.

Since last season, Berlin Fashion Week has increasingly undergone a change of heart: innovative formats, young designers and sustainable concepts are the focus. How do you assess this positive change for Berlin Fashion Week in an international comparison?

We see this change as a fitting commitment by Berlin fashion creators to their own roots. The fashion city has stopped questioning itself, comparing itself and is in the process of understanding its own USP. There is now the deserved space for exciting, diverse, sustainable and inspiring formats of the Berlin fashion scene. We Stick to our Roots.

What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week?

We are most looking forward to the shows of the new fashion generation in Berlin such as: SF1OG, Haderlump, Melisa Minca, Sia Arnika and Olivia Ballard.

As part of STUDIO2RETAIL and Berlin Fashion Week, PLATTE.Berlin will host the "Next Gen Pop Up" from July 10th to 24th, 2023. This pop-up offers upcoming designers the opportunity to present their creative works to the public. The whole thing will open on Monday, July 10th, 2023, with a liquid brunch for press, stylists and content creators. More information about the Next Gen Pop Up can be found at the following link.

There will also be a "PLATTE RAVES THE GROUND" community speech on the grounds of STATION Berlin on Tuesday and Wednesday, focusing on live content creation, culture and fashion experiences for Gen Z, Gen Y and Gen Alpha. The PLATTE community, the Ground fans and all other communities in the fashion and creative scene can look forward to two days full of networking opportunities, live interviews and experiences on current trends in sustainability, fashion, business and beauty. More information about the event can be found at the following link.
